Snapshots I took not long before I left my home on the California desert to go to Southeast Asia. All four are taken within the Joshua Tree National Park.
The first of the four shows a cloudy day at JTNP.
The second is of an approach to the rocks of the park.
The third is of flora of the area: a yucca and some hedgehog cacti.
The fourth gets a little closer to the rocks. 

May 24th

May 24th is the day that his birth and his death are celebrated here. There are buntings billowing and flags flying by many Wats today.
He did not care to have his image used, but it is seen on nearly every major street of the city. This particular image is in Wat Ram Chang next to my guest house.
